The Culinary Arts Institute at Brookdale Senior Living is a professional development program designed to enhance the food preparation and presentation skills of our chefs. Our dining and culinary arts team integrates hands-on training and classroom instructional materials that impart new food preparation skills and cutting edge techniques to enhance our residents’ dining experiences.
Our chefs are masters at creating traditional meals as well as a selection of fresh, flavorful dishes that use low-sodium, heart-healthy cooking techniques. We use only the freshest meat, seafood, produce, herbs and spices.
Resident satisfaction is the number one priority of every Brookdale community. We solicit resident feedback regularly and use that information to make improvements and additions to our menu offerings. If a resident has a favorite recipe, our chefs will gladly prepare that dish for every resident to enjoy during mealtime. The resident even gets special recognition on the menu for their recipe! With an overall resident satisfaction rating of over ninety 90 percent, it’s easy to see why mealtime is often a Brookdale resident’s favorite part of the day.
We strive to offer residents plenty of choices in their dining experience. Not only do Brookdale chefs tailor their menus to the traditional cuisine of their local area, each menu also is designed to highlight seasonal specialties.
Brookdale has developed a set of seasoning blends, Brookdale Signature Seasonings, specifically for its residents. This program enables the residents to control the level of flavor added to their food, a unique and important feature since every resident’s taste preferences are different. Signature Seasonings are available exclusively at Brookdale communities.
